IT Skills for Farmers Training
Irish Rural Link announced their new programme in June 2017 which is free IT Skills Training for Farmers. The overall aim of the programme is to get more farmers online.

The programme will cover topics such as –

Farmer Registration Calf & Herd Register,Computer Literacy, Internet Search, Setting up Email & Online Banking.

Training is provided by fully qualified Computer Tutors that are fully equipped with Train the Trainer training on Agfood.ie by the Department of Agriculture,Food & Marine. The IT Skills for Farmers training takes place over a 5 week period with one 2 hour classes per week. Classes are run nationally and mainly in the evenings tailored to the availability of Farmers. To date, Irish Rural Link has delivered Basic Computer Skills Training to over 5,000 participants around the country for all different age groups.

The programme is funded by the Department of Communications Action & Environment. Under the Grant Scheme, farmers who have never used the Internet will be provided with 10 hours of classroom training, free of charge.
The Digital Skills for Farmers Training is designed to provide Farmers who have never used the internet with the confidence, motivation and skills to reap the benefits of participating in today’s digital world.
