With the number of cases of the Coronavirus – COVID 19 continue to increase it remains at containment stage but this could change if community transmission increases. People are being advised to keep informed and updated through media and the HSE and Department of Health websites. You can contact HSE Helpline on 1850 24 1850 Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and Sat and Sun from 10am to 5pm. HSE Live chat is also available during these times. For now, there are no restrictions on mass gatherings but if you are feeling unwell it is advised not to attend or if you are in high risk group – over 65’s and those with underlying health condition you should consider if attending is in your best interest. There is no specific advice for community groups providing services to vulnerable groups. IRL have put together some practical guidelines that some are following already. We will update these if official guidelines become available. The HSE have published a poster about the virus which is available here and one on Hand Hygiene available here.
