Submission to Citizens Assembly How we best respond to the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population

Posted on: November 15th, 2017 by Louise Lennon

With the number of people over the age of 65 projected to increase to approximately 1.4 million by 2046 and those over the age of 85 to double by 2030, investment in health and social care to meet the future demand is needed now. It is the preference of older people, their families and Government that people remain in their own home as they age and are cared for in their own communities. Measures must be explored as to how this can be made possible for people. Full submission on how we can best respond to the challenges and opportunities is available here
